Position: School Based Intake Specialist (Interviewer) (Part time, temporary March 2019 - November 2019)

Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region (BBBS IR), a premier youth mentoring organization, seeks a Temporary School-Based Intake Specialist. This position requires 24 hours of work per week, during 9-5 business hours for 3-6 months - approximately as early as February 2019 through November 2019. Travel to and from area colleges and universities is required. Candidate will go to University campuses and conduct a full day of volunteer interviews Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-5pm. Position assists with volunteer "Big" interviews, assessments and references during peak enrollment periods.
- Conducts volunteer enrollment including on-site volunteer interviews, child safety education, and all enrollment procedures; be highly proficient at applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures to all aspects of job.
- Conducts volunteer assessments and updates as indicated, always maintaining accurate records.
- Reviews all enrollment information and assessments. Makes recommendations for participation in program based on all data, and effectively align volunteer interests and qualifications with service options of Agency.
- Conduct volunteer references by phone and e-mail and thoroughly document references in our agency management system.
Academic: Minimum - Bachelor's degree in social services, or related field preferred.
Professional: Experience working with child and adult populations, as well as specific assessment, intake or interview experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages required. Must have dependable access to a car, valid driver's license, and meet State-required automobile insurance minimums.
Personal Attributes: Must have a customer/client focus, strong interpersonal skills, be results and outcome oriented, approachable and highly organized. Candidate must be a strong judge of character and able to accurately assess people. They should be able to bring a sales/marketing approach to volunteer interaction in order to effectively match individuals with program and clients.
